Thank goodness the snow has gone at last! After a fortnight that kept me more or less confined to the house, (due to fear of slipping and breaking another bone!), I am now out and about again. Christmas is coming!

We are busy with seasonal craft fairs. We had a lovely day at one of our local village craft fairs a couple of weeks ago, and this weekend we have another Christmas craft fair coming up. It is so nice to lay out all our items on a pretty cloth, and show them off to our customers! People are so complimentary about our stock, and everyone seems to love liberty! We have started making liberty hair decorations too, and here is a selection of our range!

Our 3rd birthday!!

It is our 3rd birthday on Etsy on 23rd June, so to celebrate, we are giving away a FREE GIFT with all orders for the next 2 weeks!!

Our liberty dresses continue to be a 'best seller', and this year, we have brought in a  new line of matching dress and pants sets. A lovely customer from the U.S.A requested 3 'special order' matching sets, so we decided to extend our range within our shop. Dolly mixtures tabard and bridesmaids bags!

Summer has arrived, and with it some lovely flowers in the garden. However, we are still busy sewing, and here is our next tabard apron as promised!

This one is made from a lovely vintage fabric called 'Dolly Mixtures' dating from the 1970s, and found in an antique centre, completely unused! The cheery yellow binding and useful pocket make it ideal for a toddler age 1 year to 18 months. The elastic side fastenings make for easy dressing, and allow plenty of room for growth!

We've also just expanded our dolly bags with some that are ideal for little bridesmaids. Take a look!



Another tabard apron!

Here is another tabard apron to add to our new collection. This one is to suit a 2 year old little girl. The colours are bright and cheerful, and would be ideal to wear over a special dress to keep it clean.

A new line for daisyfleur!!

 

AAKAROA, SOUTH ISLAND, NEW ZEALAND

Apologies for the long delay in updating this blog, but we have been away from home visiting brothers who live in Canada and New Zealand, and travelling around New Zealand ourselves. It was a fantastic holiday!! Above is the view from a holiday cottage we stayed in at Akaroa, on the Banks Peninsula. What a wonderful view!!

Anyway, today I just want to introduce you to a new line for daisyfleur. We have started to sew little tabard aprons for toddlers, and this is the first one that is for sale on etsy. We plan to expand the range to include little girls up to the age of 4, and make them in a variety of fabrics and patterns.

Thoughts of Autumn!!

We have a new shop banner and avatar!!

I would just like to share with you our new shop banner from our etsy shop, and also our new avatar which now appears on this blog. We would like to extend a special thank you to Nevena of Photosprint, who also has a shop on etsy. Anyone who has ever created a banner for an on-line shop will know that it usually requires lots of thought and amendments, so thank you again  Nevena for your help and patience! Nevena managed to incorporate our new 'little girl holding a marguerite image', all drawn by my husband (Jenny's Dad, of course!). We also included some lovely liberty fabric, as we use liberty so much in our dresses. We are very pleased with the end result!

It's strawberry time!!

We grow delicious strawberries in our Lincolnshire garden, and we have a good crop this year, so my husband has been busy picking them ready for me to make jam!

Today I have been slaving over a hot stove, and the kitchen has smelt lovely. Strawberry jam can  be tricky to set, so I always add lemon juice. The jam tastes gorgeous, so was well worth all the hard work!

To celebrate the strawberry season, I have today listed a 'strawberry skirt' to our etsy shop. So you see, it has been a busy day!

VINTAGE PATTERNS!

At daisyfleur, we like to use vintage patterns for alot of our dresses, particularly when sewing with the liberty fabrics. Some of our patterns date from the 1960s and 1970s. We get our patterns from various places - friends, etsy and e bay in particular. Here are some of our vintage patterns, followed by a selection of the dresses we have made using them.

This is a pattern we use alot for our liberty dresses. It dates from 1978.  This dress, to fit a 9 month old baby is a gorgeous liberty fabric.

Here are two patterns from 1980, bought from one of our favourite etsy shops SewMeVintage. Underneath are two lovely liberty dresses for 6 month old babies.

 

Here is a gorgeous pinafore dress from a 1962 pattern. It is also available in pale blue. Both are to fit  a 6 month old baby.
